Sally came under our care as a young puppy after developing significant mobility issues. Prior to transfer, she had been seen by a local veterinary clinic, however her condition required more advanced orthopaedic assessment and treatment than could be provided there.
Sally was transferred to our veterinary partners in Ankara for further investigation. Comprehensive examination and imaging revealed two serious issues affecting her mobility. She was diagnosed with a congenital hip abnormality as well as a fractured ankle.
Due to the severity of the injuries and the long-term impact they would have on her quality of life if left untreated, surgical intervention was recommended.
Sally underwent orthopaedic surgery to stabilise the fractured ankle using a surgical plate. In addition, she underwent a femoral head excision procedure to address the congenital hip condition and improve long-term comfort and mobility.
Following surgery, Sally remained under veterinary supervision for recovery, pain management and rehabilitation support. Her case required careful post-operative monitoring due to the complexity of the procedures and her young age.
Sally’s treatment formed part of her longer-term rehabilitation plan aimed at improving comfort, stability and overall quality of life.
