Spay Station Build

In 2023 earthquakes ripped through Turkiye destroying everything in its wake. More than 55,000 human lives were lost.

The homeless dog & cat population in the areas affected spiked as companion animals became orphaned.

The areas affected by the earthquake are predominantly economically poor, a situation made worse by the loss of livelihood. Watching the suffering in the aftermath of the earthquake we knew that we had to try to help.

We support a community carer in the earthquake area who feeds hundreds of dogs & takes those who need medical aid some distance to the nearest vet.

We agreed to fund the establishment of a small building where spay & neuter can be carried out & first aid administered.

It is vital that the current rising population be kept under control & humanely reduced through sterilisation.

Dogs living on the streets with no human intervention when they have medical problems suffer terribly. The simplest of conditions left untreated can quickly get out of hand with terrible consequences. It isn’t unusual for a simple eye infection to result in the eventual loss of sight for example.

The Spay Station will be used to store medications to treat conditions such as these & support dogs while they are waiting to transfer to an animal hospital for surgical treatment.

There will be a space in the building to quarrantine pups with infectious disease and another for expectant & nursing mums.
