Gül’s Story
Gül was once an owned dog, but when she fell ill, she was abandoned to the forest to fend for herself. By the time she was found, she was gravely unwell — old wire was embedded around her throat, she suffered from advanced mange, and a severe wound marked her head. Starving and desperate, Gül had been eating soil simply to survive.
She was later taken in by the same German rescuer who helped several of our sanctuary dogs, but when she could no longer care for Gül, this gentle girl faced being sent back to the municipal pound.
We stepped in to make sure that never happened. Gül is now safe within our Sanctuary Programme.
After everything she has endured, Gül finally has the chance to heal.
