Female street born stray came under our care displaying severe abnormalities to both back legs. On investigation the injuries were found to be the result of someone using their boot to slam her to the ground. The patient’s knees were no longer where they should be, they had moved to the sides of her legs. Our consultant veterinarian operated on the patient to correct the condition under the advice of a university hospital professor
Patient arrived after community carer reported swelling of the front legs. The patient had previously been hit by a car & suffered multiple fractures which were healed by a vet in Ankara.
Tests revealed that the patient was suffering from hypertrophic osteodystrophy. Treatment began right away & was successful.
During evaluation it was discovered that one of the plates implanted to heal a broken leg bone had failed. This was replaced.
An adult female street born Kangal arrived under our care suffering from a compound fracture to one front leg. The patient was the victim of a hit & run driver.
Our consultant vets treated the patient for shock & blood loss, gave the patient pain relief & later operated to heal the bone.
The patient was given a course of physiotherapy & was eventually discharged. She was later adopted by a gated community in the local area.
This patient came to us from a community carer who had attempted to get the patient help from a local vet who was out of his depth. Not all country vets are experienced in small animal care. Sadly the patient was operated on to remove a bullet while suffering from a fracture which was not diagnosed until the patient came to us.
On arrival the patient was unable to stand due to hind leg paralysis, had an advanced eye infection which was causing loss of vision, patients skin was maggot infested & the patient was displaying signs of confusion.
Our vets shaved the patient & removed the maggots, applying skin treatments at the same time. The eye infection was treated & the fracture repaired. The patient was made comfortable with the help of a urinary catheter.
A course of physiotherapy was given which the patient responded well to, eventually being able to bear weight on his legs again.
Sadly due to a diagnosis of dementia following evaluation the patient remained with our vet team.
The patient came under our medical care after being hit by a car. He had multiple broken bones, was suffering from shock & blood loss.
Our vet carried out a six hour surgery in which plates were used to repair the breaks in the bones. The surgery was successful & after a 31 day recovery period the patient was discharged to the shelter.
Sally came under our care when a community carer found her in the street struggling to get up from a sitting position.
Sally saw an orthopedic vet who diagnosed a broken heel and hip dysplasia. She was otherwise well.
Sally has two surgeries to correct her mobility issues
