Bidik’s story began in a place no dog should have to call home. She was born on a garbage dump in Türkiye.
Today, she is a much-loved member of our sanctuary family, and her carers describe her as a very gentle, calm, well-mannered and sweet girl.
Bidik loves people and craves affection. She will come looking for attention and happily jump up for pets and cuddles. She is also a wonderfully “talkative” girl. She makes little vocal sounds to her humans, almost as though she is having a conversation with them, and it has become one of the things her carers love about her.
She gets along well with the other dogs in our sanctuary programme and is used to living as part of a group. She has not been tested with cats and has never lived with children.
What Bidik has never experienced is life in a traditional home of her own.
Home life will therefore be completely new to her. She isn’t toilet trained and will need to learn the routines that come with living in a house. Her adopter will need to give her time, patience and encouragement while she adjusts to a very different way of life.
For a dog who began life on a garbage dump, the opportunity to have a safe home, a family and people of her own would be an extraordinary change.
Bidik already knows how much she loves being close to people. Now we would love to find someone who wants her close to them for the rest of her life.
Adopting Bidik
Bidik is available for adoption to England, Wales & Scotland.
Her preparation and travel process takes approximately four months. During this time she will complete all necessary veterinary and travel preparation, including Brucella canis testing.
DDAA covers Bidik’s preparation costs. Her adopter will be asked to cover professional transport to the UK, currently approximately £1,300. There is no additional DDAA adoption fee.
If you think Bidik could be the dog for you, please complete our adoption application form or contact us for more information. Once your application has been reviewed, we’ll contact you to talk more about Bidik and arrange a home check by video call.
Bidik was born on a garbage dump. We’d love her next chapter to begin in a home of her own.
