Mobility Programme

Dogs & cats with mobility challenges are often among the most vulnerable animals in rescue.

Through our Mobility Programme, Dog Desk Animal Action provides mobility aids, rehabilitation support and long-term care for dogs & cats living with paralysis, limb loss, neurological conditions and other mobility-related disabilities.

The programme helps dogs & cats regain independence, improve their quality of life and continue enjoying the freedom, dignity and care they deserve.

We have supported dogs & cats requiring wheelchairs, mobility aids, rehabilitation and specialist veterinary treatment, ensuring that disability does not become a barrier to a safe and fulfilling life.

Here are a few of the cats & dogs who have been supported under this programme & gained a new lease of life after life changing injuries

Ten year old Victor fell off a balcony & damaged his spine. He was later surrendered to a municipal shelter. No longer there & in the safety of a loving home Victor is able to enjoy his walks again with his new wheels.

This little one was left paralysed after being hit with a car. His wheels have given him back his ability to zoom along & protected his legs from damage caused by dragging.

This sweet little Chihuahua was found with bloodied legs from being forced to drag them in the street. We provided him with wheels so he could walk & run freely without suffering those nasty injuries. He also found a home.

It’s not always accidents that cause paralysis. This chap lost the ability to move normally following disease.

Because of severe cerebellar hypoplasia, this kitten had almost no balance and constantly fell over. A veterinarian recommended a custom mobility cart to help her move around safely and independently.

This little one lost the use of his back legs due to disease but there was hope that some function would return if nerve damage could be reversed. The wheels didn’t just help him get around they strengthened his legs until eventually he was able to move unassisted.
