Patient Grace

Grace came under our care as a young puppy after developing severe straining associated with toileting difficulties. The condition progressed to a rectal prolapse, where part of the bowel protruded externally due to the repeated strain.

Grace was taken for urgent veterinary assessment and treatment. Due to the severity of the prolapse, surgical intervention was required to reposition and secure the bowel safely back into place.

Following surgery, Grace remained under veterinary supervision for recovery, monitoring and supportive care to ensure proper healing and reduce the risk of recurrence.

Once stable and recovered from the procedure, Grace transferred into the sanctuary programme for ongoing care and support.
