Sven
Sven is a street-born boy who arrived in our care with a gunshot wound. He was underweight, but otherwise his health was stable a small mercy in what could have been a far worse situation.
He was admitted for surgery to clean and close the wound. The procedure went as planned, and the veterinary team were able to treat the injury successfully. After monitoring and initial recovery, Sven was discharged to the Shelter Project clinic where he continued his healing under close supervision.
As his physical condition improved, Sven was moved to a private kennel space to begin adjusting to life in a managed shelter environment. For dogs who have lived entirely on the streets, this transition is significant. It requires time, patience, and careful observation. Sven is now in that stage resting, rebuilding strength, and learning that consistent care can be part of daily life.
He came to us injured and vulnerable.
He is healing and he is safe.
