Tina is a two year old street born dog who was adopted from a shelter but escaped and was subsequently hit by a car.
She was showing neurological symptoms and initially there were fears she had suffered brain damage. We arranged for Tina to be collected and driven through the night to the animal hospital.
Thankfully, she had no broken bones, internal organ damage or brain injury, but diagnostic testing confirmed canine distemper.
Tina initially responded well to treatment, began eating and was able to walk around her quarantine area. More recently her neurological symptoms have regressed. Treatment continues.
