Stella is a beautiful adult sighthound mix with three legs and a wonderfully gentle nature. Born in a garbage dump, where she spent her early life, Stella has known a very different world from the one we hope she will eventually call home.
Despite her difficult beginnings, Stella is described by her carers as an absolutely beautiful girl who is gentle, sensitive and friendly. She gets along well with the other dogs in our sanctuary programme and has a lovely nature.
Stella has three legs, she lost one to a hit & run driver.
She isn’t toilet trained and will need to learn the routines that come with living in a house. Her adopter will need to give her time, patience and encouragement while she discovers this new way of life.
Stella has always been a naturally slender girl and has sometimes found it difficult to gain weight. Our vet has looked into this and found no underlying reason for it.
Stella has not been tested with cats and has not previously lived with children.
Having spent her early life in a garbage dump and subsequently living in our sanctuary programme, Stella will need patience, understanding and time to adjust to family life.
What we would love for her now is a safe, comfortable home, people who adore her and the opportunity to enjoy all the ordinary pleasures of being someone’s much-loved dog.
Adopting Stella
Stella is available for adoption to the UK.
Her preparation and travel process takes approximately four months. During this time she will complete all necessary veterinary and travel preparation, including Brucella canis testing.
DDAA covers Stella’s preparation costs. Her adopter will be asked to cover professional transport to the UK, currently approximately £1,300. There is no additional DDAA adoption fee.
If you think Stella could be the dog for you, please complete our adoption application form or contact us for more information. Once your application has been reviewed, we’ll contact you to talk more about Stella and arrange a home check by video call.
Stella has spent her life surrounded by dogs and people who care for her. It’s time for her to have a family to call her own.
