Bake Sale Fundraiser
Sometimes You Just Need Cake!
Bake sales are great fun & you don’t have to be an expert baker to have a go.
If you are that’s fantastic but for those of us less skillful in the kitchen there are tons of easy recipes for cakes & biscuits to be found on the internet that are perfect for novice bakers & if you are thinking of going big you might be able to persuade your friends to pop around & give you a hand with the baking.
Hosting at home is the easiest option as you don’t need anyone’s permission but your own. Work is a great venue too but you will need to get permission from the boss first. There are lots of other venues which may be appealing to you but please be sure to find out if you need a permit or consent before you start planning your sale.
Once you have decided when & where you can download posters to let everyone know that your event is happening, you can email them to your friends & family too to encourage as many people as possible to come along.
Don’t forget to rustle up a few diet appropriate cakes for vegans, vegetarians, gluten free etc. Labelling is super important too so that folks with allergies will know what they can eat & what to avoid. We have some printable cards that you can use for this.
Pricing is entirely up to you. Some folks price on what they think is fair or what they have seen at other sales while some people simply ask for a donation. People are coming along to support you & the cause that is important to you & tend to be generous as a result. They will want to help you make your bake sale a roaring success.
Keep everything legal. If you have permission to host your event & you have labelled everything correctly you are on the right track. You will need to look at the Food Standards Agency website to be absolutely certain you are sticking to the rules, you can find them here
